The apartment is in the Spencer on Bryon hotel. This was not made clear to us, so when we arrived we were not sure we where at the right location. The owner has elected to self manage the apartment with an external party "my hotel".
As a result the access to the place is micky mouse, and we were bombarded by emails and phone calls before arrival. We were driving up 6hrs to Auckland. To get our access card we had to drive back over the bridge into Auckland cbd, then enter into a postal drop by swiping my bank card. Then accessing a locker, that had several keys to various rentals. Not secure.
The property advertised parking, it was not made clear to us on arrival. As a result we paid for a nights parking in the hotel, till we could sort it out the following day. The "My Hotel" manager offered to reimburse, but has not followed through. An empty promise. The parking is in the loading bay.
Poor replenishing/servicing of the apartment before we arrived, that salt and pepper shakers were empty, no complimentary washing powder. No make up tissues in the bathroom dispenser etc. Sparse kitchen items, no can-opener.
Its a shame really, as you are left with a sense of dissatisfaction, when the experience could have been so much better.
The "my Hotel" staff were friendly, but in a reactive way, rather than proactive. I had taken the effort to contact several days before arrival to ensure a smooth arrival. They said they had only recently taken over the listing.
