Good facilities with poor operations
Overall experience was good. We visited during not so great weather, so didn't get to enjoy much of amenities.
The Westin team's business operations & logistics didn’t seem very organized.
When I checked out at noon, I have asked them to use the dinning/drink credit the hotel offered at the check in to be used for final balance. A young crew confirmed it has been applied and I will be getting receipt in email despite my gesture to get a print out.
I then got a call from hotel around 2pm telling me Westin Carlsbad will charge me for the late check out. The hotel didn’t even know that I checked out. I explained I am checked out and in LA when they called.
After checking emails, as they sent 3 different version of receipts, none of them were accurate and no dinning credit was applied. I wrote them back to explain, but it was send only email from Westin so it got bounced. I left it alone as the amount, compare to over $1000 I paid for two nights, wasn't worth going through all the explanation.
Overall good resort vibe hotel, but they have some poorly trained staff thst do not coordinate well among themselves and with customers.
