We (2 couples) stayed at the Seastar Inn in early April for 4 nights. First impressions were not stellar. We arrived on a Wednesday around dinner time and the owner was high as a kite. He showed us to our rooms but barely said 10 words to us. The safe in our room was broken and the other room didn’t even have a safe. We were woken up frequently at night by barking dogs and the roosters let us know it was morning. That being said, the beds were comfortable and bathroom was clean. The AC worked well too. Daily maid service was provided.
We used the pool daily, which was clean and refreshing. Most days, we had the pool to ourselves. The furniture surrounding the pool is very worn down, most of the chairs are broken. The hot tub was unusable, broken while we were there. The exterior of the resort, as a whole, could use a lot TLC. Fresh paint, flowers, and vegetation could really bring this place to the next level.
We had dinner at The Seastar one night and everyone’s food was excellent. Breakfast, which was included, was consistently good. Cold Red Stripe was $3 USD or they have a bucket deal, 6 for $12 USD. The owner was able to get a sporting event on the TV for us to watch one evening at the bar. They do advertise themselves as a “sports bar”, but there is only one TV in that space.
The location of this resort is what was attractive to us when booking. It was a five minute walk to Rick’s Cafe, Ivan’s, LTU Pub, etc. Definitely recommend the jerk chicken at Kool Vybes. 10
