Initially, because of a flight cancellation, we could not arrive on the date of the 3-day reservation. I tried to contact the hotel, but the AI phone attendant just took me in circles, suggesting I use their app to modify my reservation...Which didn't work because the reservation was made through Expedia. So friends in the town of Leek went directly to the hotel and confirmed that the room was paid for and would be kept empty until we arrived the following day... except the following day, the desk clerk (who was seldom at the desk) could not locate the booking, because all I had received was an Expedia confirmation, and not a Premier Inn reservation number...OK.. so we got our roome with non-fumctioning HVAC... of course no help except a rookie diesk clerk was available. 30 degrees and 100 % humidity, no HVAC. Do the math.
Morning came, and we were not on the breakfast list, but we were allowed to pre-pay for breakfast if desired. And even though I produced the Expedia confirmation which specifically said breakfast included, we finally got shown a table and a very meagre breakfast buffet, on which the fruits were not fresh, and the hot food looked terribly greasy. We never went back for any more breakfasts.
I don't want to denigrate the staff, but obviously the management tolerated this "standard" for service, maintenance, and cleanliness. The word Premier should not be in the name of this chain. Do basic, but do it properly.
Expedia also dropped the ball, regularly.....
