Unfortunately, our overall impression of Villa Giovanna was disappointing, especially considering the price – nearly €4,000 per week.
The positives: good location, easy check-in, parking for 2–3 cars, a friendly property manager and a large 9 × 5 m illuminated pool, cleaned twice during our stay. The terraces are spacious and the kitchen is large and well equipped.
Unfortunately, the property is poorly maintained. The outdoor area has rubbish, pool chemical buckets and unnecessary old items. There are no sun umbrellas, while the loungers are old, partly broken and were so dirty that we had to clean them ourselves.
The jacuzzi is a joke compared with the listing photos: it does not work, is covered with an old torn cover and has rubbish inside. It should simply be removed.
Inside, the mattresses are extremely hard and the bunk bed squeaks so badly that sleeping on it is difficult. The air conditioning works but is noisy at night.
We also had no water on arrival because an unmarked switch controlling the water pump had been turned off.
The villa has great potential and the pool is excellent, but at this price level we expected a much higher standard and better maintenance. With new mattresses, loungers, umbrellas, proper cleaning and removal of old items, this could be a great property.
For the current price and condition, we would not return.
