Room had strange odour on arrival with poor air circulation. However, we were able to turn on the AC & fan which made a huge difference. Room was ok, with 2 double beds and a desk, nice small fridge. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom needs a proper clean as there was visible grime on the towel holder.
The positive: amazing location, the river is a block away, and there are many options for restaurants nearby. A huge shout out to the lady managing the breakfast area!! She kept the food/coffee/drink stations well stocked and replenished items promptly. She also made sure the area was tidy and was constantly wiping down the counters. Amazing!
The negatives: house keeping or rather lack of. This hotel services the room every 2nd day, which in my opinion is perfectly acceptable. However, during our 7 night stay, our room was only serviced properly 1 time. We were out of our room most days until mid afternoon so there was plenty of time for housekeeping to enter. Whenever we called on our return, we were told housekeeping would get to our room. However, no one would show up. After repeated requests, one day someone came and gave us new towels and emptied the garbage. On another day, they did the same with the addition of making the beds. No real cleaning was done. I had to track down someone to give us shampoo and soap. Front desk response was unprofessional and ‘we are short staffed’. Don’t make it the customer’s problem!
