2/10 – Slecht

Stoffig, muf, vies, onhygiënisch hotel. Jaren achterstallig onderhoud en dit Hotel is echt in de 16e eeuw blijven steken.

Breakfast looks good but didn’t try it

The Hotel is in a great location with free parking - but … the Hotel itself is very run down, photos are not up to date, rooms are very basic and decor is not brilliant, but it’s cheap and cheerful.

A horrible hotel. Freezing cold. Uncomfortable bed and rock hard pillows. No restaurant in the evening . Wished I’d stayed in a Premier inn.

Nice room, recently refurbished bathroom, all lovely. Breakfast was included and cooked to order. Couple of things : Finding the car park was testing. The workings of the shower were also testing. And the toilet top plunger button had disappeared (in an otherwise lovely room). Didn't check out the bar.

Good location and parking. Staff were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed breakfast. Rooms are a little dated and old. Bed linens and towels were new. Suited as fine for one night

Excellent location as it was very close to shops, but unfortunately the place needed a lot of care and attention as it wasn’t clean and well looked after

6/10 – Goed

Went for 1 night after our daughters wedding, room was comfy enough, although a bit dated and tired. Staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful, and breakfast in morning was freshly made and superbly cooked. Only issues were a shower that seemed uncontrollable ( my wife could not get temperature right), and a noise outside, maybe an extractor going on and off during the night. Also, no food other than a panini at the bar in the afternoon, which was a bit nondescript and slightly burnt on the bottom! (Although they gave me a discount for that). Overall, just ok for one night, but still a lovely old building.

The rooms floors creaked with every single step and a level which is unacceptable. The shower did not work. No ventilation in the room so have to keep window open which then let’s all the noise in from below. Overall not a pleasant stay and won’t stay here again.

Checkin staff were fine but the room was clean but dated. Shower water pressure was non existent and took 5 mins to warm up - however water literally dribbled out of shower head! Missed breakfast as it closed at 10am on a Saturday.

Central position and with parking was good Extent of air conditioning was just opening windows when hot . Basic breakfast was ok Overall was looked after by staff, and put right toilet flush mechanism quickly. Quirky and dated decor. Was happy there. Steve, July 2026

As other reviews have said the property is old and creaky and furnishings and carpets could do with being updated. The hotel is right next to the castle, pubs, restaurants and-supermarkets and is a great location. It’s a shame really as it could be really nice if a bit of TLC was added to the rooms and especially the entrance which really needs attention. Another Plus is the staff are really nice.
