BEWARE, DO NOT stay here! Was staying at Candlewood Suites in Bellefonte for my daughter’s basketball tournament. Should have known from my check in this was not going to end well. Check in was at 3pm, arrived at 3:40pm and was given my room. My room was not cleaned, beds were unmade and went back to lobby to get a cleaned room. When I said the beds were unmade the front desk replied back, well, is it clean? I said no of course it’s not clean and was told they only have two housekeepers and are working overtime, I need to wait! Waited well over an hour in the lobby for a room. During our stay the girls from the basketball team went swimming in the hotel’s pool, all the girls who swam came home with a doctor diagnoses of folliculitis, some completely covered some sporadic. Some girls had to go back to the doctor (two in one week) due to styes on their eyes and swimmers ear! Also, during our stay there was some suspicious activity with homeless looking people there, looking like crack heads and falling asleep during daylight on the chairs outside of the hotel. They were also in the lobby cuddling a kitten in a weird way! Corporate (IHG) has been called by the team’s parents, department of health, BBB, hotels.com, the police, and Candlewood management. Candlewoods management is denying and lying to corporate about their pool and they are not cooperating. Long story short, don’t waste your time here!
