Hotel villar tb do grupo.
Clean, modern and lovely little rooms right in the heart of the city. Friendly and helpful welcome at the nearby hotel.
There was a strange noise in the corridor at night (it sounded like something electronic) and unfortunately the heating control panel developed a fault and flashed with a green light all nightâŠ.I really couldnât work out how to reset itâŠ.so I didnât sleep very well, but Iâm guessing thatâs not a normal occurrence.
Accessing the Pension is done through another location which is staffed. Our room was in a great location within old town Santiago de Compostela and very near the Cathedral. The room is very bare bones but clean with a good bed. We would have been perfectly happy with the room but for two things. There is a lot of noise well into early morning from passing drunks come from nearby bars. Also, my hearing aid charger was fried by a surge in the plug that I was using (you could visibly see the spark). This happened the night before we were scheduled to leave. I didn't recognize the problem with the charger until we were about to check out and leave Santiago. I emailed the Pension but I haven't heard from them.
Stayed here upon arriving from the Camino. Be aware the that the Pension is an annex to the Hotel Rua Villar on a nearby street where you need to check in. There's a notice on the door of the Pension, but better to know beforehand to avoid confusion.
Literally 3 short blocks to the Cathedral square with lots of retail and dining options nearby.
Property is very clean and contemporary, although there are only 3 rooms per floor and no elevator. Yes, a walk-up for those of you who care.
We were on the 3rd floor (4th for those of us in the US) which, after a Camino made the climb was a surprise, but one we were now ready for.
