Cagliari

The capital city of Sardinia, Cagliari is is something of a historical gem in Italy. The beautiful squares, domes and facades are remarkable enough on their own, but they're also lorded over by an imposing hilltop castle towering above them all.

You'll find ancient Roman ruins alongside trendy new cafés in among the tree-lined boulevards. A lively party scene by the beach is just a short distance out of town. There are so many star attractions in and around Cagliari, but be sure to leave time to check out the Bastion of Saint Remy and Cagliari Cathedral.
